We are into our 8th week in Athlone IT and we have two classes of great sugarcrafters.
In the last two weeks we made sugarpaste novelty animals and sugarpaste flowers. The students brought in their own cakes tonight and created flowers and novelties for them.

Week 7 was about making sugarpaste models. We had made some in the previous set of classes but practice makes perfect!
I started by doing a demo of a communion boy and girl sugarpaste model which could be put on a communion cake.

It was lovely to see a great number turning out for our 5th week in Athlone It.
I did a demo on Brush Embroidery, which can be done directly onto cakes
and Runouts which can be piped onto a piece of greaseproof paper and used 48 hours later.

This week both classes had to bring in their own maderia cake which would be transformed into a jersey, couch or handbag.
The handbag proved to be the more popular choice.
They all turned out lovely and they should be quite proud of themselves.
