We made a cake to celebrate the launch of Getting Irish Business Online in the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday last. Thanks to Ivan Keaney Photography for the photos. This is a great opportunity for a business to get online. 

Our own website has been up since 1998 and I would encourage any business to take the leap online.  You cannot answer the phone 24 hours a day but even if the website only had your basic details it is there 24/7 to be viewed by prospective clients from all over the world. If you are thinking about it have a look at the Getting Irish Business Online site and get online with the help of Google, Blacknight Solutions, An Post and your local City or County Enterprise Board.

We made mini cakes during our sugarcraft course in Athlone IT on Monday night 21st March. There were all shapes and sizes using madeira cake.  They are so colourful. The ladies really made a great job of them.  Next week we are making sugarpaste people.  Looking forward to that.

The fair is run by Belton Wedding Fairs with Pauline Belton from Grafters Hair Co., at the helm.  Looking forward to talking to and seeing the future brides and grooms at our stand.  Our most recently created cakes will be on display along with a tower of our valentine cupcakes. We will have offers on the day for any deposits taken and also a special wedding cake at a discounted cost. We were delighted to be chosen and commissioned with the design and production of a suitable cake to help celebrate 50 years of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland.

The cake was a very bright, vibrant 3 tier with the American colours in the main design and both the American and Irish flag handmade from sugarpaste drapped around the cake.

The event was held in The Gresham Hotel where the very first meeting took place in 1961.  The American Chamber’s new President, Gerard Kilcommins, had his first press conference and was photographed alongside the cake with CEO of The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland.

Our cake was in Irish Independent, Irish Daily Star, Irish Daily Mail with online photos in Breaking news.ie and The Irish Examiner.com.

We really enjoyed making this cake and were delighted our clients were very happy with the results.

Due to weather conditions the sugarcraft demo organised in O’Mearas Garden Pavilion, Mullingar tonight (7th December) has been postponed. Hopefully we will continue?next week.

The sugarcraft evening event due to take place in O’Mearas Garden Pavilion, Mullingar has been cancelled due to the bad weather.

It will take place at the same time next week instead.

We added a new flavour to our selection of cupcakes. These are our strawberry rose cupcakes.

They are pink inside with a strawberry flavour.

Great idea for a unique christening gift or to bring to a summer evenings bbq.

Other flavours are chocolate, carrot, vanilla, coffee and lemon.

Cannaboe Confectionery created this tower of cakes for a recent wedding.

Each tier consisted of two cakes iced together.

Top two cakes in the first tier were 8″ maderias, second tier was also two 10″ maderias while the next was made up of two 12″ fruit cakes and the bottom two 14″ fruit cakes.

We decided to bring the cake in two parts because the bottom 2 tiers alone were very heavy.

We assembled the cake at the venue and added 60 handmade roses to finish it.

Its nearly that time of year again.The hunt is on for the white dress or the new suit for their First Holy Communion.

Whether you are the mum or dad, godmother, godfather, aunty or uncle,

a Cannaboe Communion cake will make a lovely gift for the day.

Cannaboe Communion cakes can be made from chocolate, maderia, chocolate biscuit or carrot cakes.

The little prayer book and the rosary beads are all made from sugarpaste and are edible.

The prayer book can be lifted off the cake and put away as a momento of the special day.

Going by last years, this wedding fair is usually very busy and with over 60 stands it should have everything the bride or groom would need under one roof.

There will be a fashion show with Catwalk Model Agency at 5pm.

We will have a display of a new selection of our wedding cakes and also some little tasters of carrot, chocolate and chocolate biscuit cake.
